Early this morning we had a weather bomb pass through our town. We have been lucky only losing our bean fence and clothes line. But many people in the town have lost the roofs off their homes and lots of trees down.
This tree is in the neighbours it has been blown over and uprooted breaking the fence. Scenes like this are all over town. Thank goodness no one has been hurt.

First flimsy finished this year.
Well the title sounds good. But it has taken me all year to get this flimsy to this stage. It is so big 80" X 100" that I can't quilt it on my machine so I am thinking I will have to send it to a long arm quilter. I am thrilled to have finish it and really pleased how it has turned out considering some of the ugly fabric that is in it. In the photo it is folded in half as I couldn't find a space big enough. The pattern is from Bonnie Hunters mystery quilt from 2010. Roll Roll Cotton Boll.

Pipiroa Plum Jam
Happy New Year everyone. My daughter gave me some plums at Christmas so I have been busy to day making plum jam. I was a bit worried it wouldn't set but it looks OK and tastes ok too. I had some on toast with creamed cheese yum.

Xmas Stocking

Made this xmas stocking for my new grandson. It is made from fabric from an elderly Aunt who made xmas gifts from it for my children so this stocking is packed with memories of christmases past. I didn't take a photo of it when it was finished. I put a plain cuff on it with his name embroided on the cuff. His mother was very pleased with the stocking.

Mystery Quilt
What have I been doing. Over the last few months I have been working on my Roll Roll on Boll quilt. A mystery quilt by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville Custom quilting. Bonnie posted it on her blog last year and I have been slowly sewing 2 inch squares and small triangles together I think I must be mad. See the row of 2 inch squares set on point, they will become the border. There are some seriously ugly fabrics in these squares and triangles. But now that it is coming together it looks pretty good to me. I hope you think so too. Thanks to all of you how have visited.
