Xmas Stocking

Made this xmas stocking for my new grandson. It is made from fabric from an elderly Aunt who made xmas gifts from it for my children so this stocking is packed with memories of christmases past. I didn't take a photo of it when it was finished. I put a plain cuff on it with his name embroided on the cuff. His mother was very pleased with the stocking.

New Member to the tribe.

Well on the 29th of September we welcomed a new GS to the family. He and his Mum & Dad are doing well and I have taken a week of work to help and cuddle this new GS. This is their first baby. He is so cute and of course I'm not biased : ) This makes number 7 we are so lucky.

Mystery Quilt

What have I been doing. Over the last few months I have been working on my Roll Roll on Boll quilt. A mystery quilt by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville Custom quilting. Bonnie posted it on her blog last year and I have been slowly sewing 2 inch squares and small triangles together I think I must be mad. See the row of 2 inch squares set on point, they will become the border. There are some seriously ugly fabrics in these squares and triangles. But now that it is coming together it looks pretty good to me. I hope you think so too. Thanks to all of you how have visited.

Spotted Giraffe

I made this wall hanging for the Cotton on Quilters exhibition in March. The challenge fabric was the spots on the giraffe and the leaves on the tree lots of fussy cutting. To see the winning quilt visit here. You can also find a link on Janice's blog to a slideshow of the quilt exhibition. So many quilts & so little time to look at them all.

In the photo you can see some of the other entries in the challenge.

Cotton batting

I know I haven't posted for about 12 months but I have been making some quilts. And Amy is having another quilt festival thanks Amy for letting me join in. This quilt I made with some help from my fellow workers.
They made the heart blocks at each end of the quilt. We have given it to a friends daughter. She has been unwell and we hope this will be a comfort for her. I had fun quilting this quilt and trying out different quilting patterns. I used cotton batting instead of the usual polyester. I know it is a bit more expensive but if that is the reason for the better quilting finish it is worth using.
