On sunday I spent the day playing golf. It was the Ladies ladder challenge. 19 started at the first hole and one person was eliminated at each holes leaving one person the win at the 18th hole. And I won!!!!  This is the trophy. It is the size of a b&b plate I have to give it back soon and then my name will be engraved on it.

Yesterday was the monthly meeting of the quilting club I belong to. There is always someone there happy to show you new skills.
Ann who was sitting with me was making tassles and cord something I always wanted to know how to make. Oh so easy when you know how. Look at my first attempt. Not very good but with practice I will improve. Ann is going to do a class next year to show us all the different tassle you can make.
This is very good of her as her eye sight is failing she is a lovely lady ready to share all her skills.

Well there hasn't been much quilting going on this week. And I have just spent most of Saturday & Sunday up at the Golf club processing the cards for the Wanganui 72 Mens Open Tournament. It was won by Riki Kauika a local lad he was 8 shots ahead of the rest of the field.

Thought I would show you may Happy Villages quilt it isn't quite finished yet. I still have the quilting to do on it.  I have covered it with a black tulle. There is a lot of quilting to do, very fiddly. I don't know that I would make another one.

Baby Sling. These are great for littlies. Just look at this little fella just 2weeks old and fast asleep. He looks very cosy in there. D in law was looking on the net for one of these and when I saw them I said I can make you one of those and so this is the result I think it looks really nice and when we took baby out in it we had lots of people looking at us. This sling is very comfortable to wear and easy to use.

And now another chair.

Well we liked the dining room chairs. So next was the rocking chair and stool to have some treatment.  It was off to the fabric store, in the morning and then an afternoon of sewing and look what we have. I did slipcovers for the chair. Useing velcro to fasten them at the back. My son has a very good staple gun so I used that to fit the arm covers and the footstool cover. I am going home to morrow so I will miss all these grandsons.

Aarons first shopping trip.

We took Aaron on his first shopping trip yesterday, he is just 12 days old, and where did we go, to the fabric store of cause. As all quilters will know the only place to go .

We brought fabric to upholster the dining room chairs. This is a neutral shade I have taken photos to show you I hope you will be able to see the pattern. So I have been busy doing the chairs 4 in all. I was very pleased with the result. I think I will go home and do the same to my dining room chairs they are starting to show ware.

We also brought fabric to make a baby sling to take him out in. Picked a nice patterned cotton for the inner and a olive green drill for the outer. I used it to day and it was nice to use. Made it easy to carry him. I hope it will be of some use.

Of course there was a sale on so I couldn't resist buying some fabric at $1.99 a metre. I brought 3 mtres of it for quilt backings.

Happy Villages

I did a Happy Villages workshop in September. It was great fun.  I was think of things to keep the boys entertained while their mother was in hospital having Aaron. This is a photo of what they achieved using sticky back paper. They look really great and held their attention for quite some time. They are 5 & 6. Look at the cars and trees they have made. Tyson made the beach with shell fish. He had been watching a programme on paua so included some in his picture.
